Many thanks to all who came to watch “Bamboo and Strings” at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center on Sunday, October 5, 2014! The concert, presented by the Musikong Kawayan Bamboo Ensemble, was attended by several hundred guests from the Tampa Basy Area. It also featured Bayside String Quartet composed of violinists Sandy and Elizabeth Kitts, violist Sam Headlee and cellist Rebecca Bialosky with bassist John DiMura and pianist Robert Jarosh. The Philippine Performing Arts Company and the Philippine Choral Group also rendered a few numbers.

PPAC and Musikong Kawayan Participate at Experience Asia 2014

Filipino Community Participation at AsiaFest 2014

This year’s AsiaFest had a big Philippine representation once again: dances by the Philippine Performing Arts Company, music by the Musikong Kawayan Bamboo Ensemble, emceeing by Joey Omila, April Barrido’s participation in the Miss AsiaFest Contest, food booth by Jolen’s Catering and flyer and program design by Aurora Fortson among others.

Philippine Music at the 3rd Annual International Festival in Brandon, FL

With the participation of the Philippine Performing Arts Company, Inc. and the Musikong Kawayan Bamboo Ensemble, there was a significant Filipino presence at the recent 3rd Annual International Festival at the Village Early Learning Center in Brandon, Florida on March 29, 2014. This has been the second year that the two PCFI performing arms have been invited to the festival.
